Particularly striking is the large mouth with the thick lips.
It protrudes far from the face and can even be extended a bit further.

The Striped bream is oblong and slightly high-backed with a straight belly line and silver base color.
The sides have 14 to 15 horizontal stripes, every second one being slightly darker.
Both dorsal fins are fused together to form a long hem.
The tail fin is large and split.
Predatory fish

1. Big mouth, bulging lips

4. Yellowish to brown horizontal stripes
The marble bream likes to travel in large schools in shallow water.
In the sand, it searches for small crabs, mussels, snails, decomposing animals, and algae.
Sometimes it also stays in brackish water near estuaries.
The Striped bream is initially male and then changes gender to female throughout its life.
