Threatened ecosystems
Climate change, overfishing, and pollution are severely affecting coral reefs. Record heat has led to the largest coral bleaching ever recorded in the last two years, impacting 84% of the world's reefs. Their loss threatens food security, coastal protection, and billions in economic and cultural services.

Hope through artificial reefs
Artificial reefs are man-made underwater structures that create habitat for marine organisms, promote coral settlement, and protect coasts from erosion. When properly planned, they can combine conservation, research, and sustainable tourism – but they are not a substitute for intact natural reefs.
