Why?
Well, first of all, jewelry can damage your wetsuit — and your skin. The pressure can cause things like bracelets and necklaces to dig in, and in the worst case, they might even cut off your circulation.

Since things tend to get hectic on a dive boat, it’s not a great idea to wait until you're onboard to take off your jewelry. Chances are, you’ll lose it in the chaos — or it’ll end up in the ocean.

If you’re diving with a semi-dry or dry suit, keep in mind that jewelry can interfere with how well the suit works.

And last but not least, depending on where you're diving, remember that shiny, reflective objects can attract sharks — and you definitely don’t want to look like lunch.
