Stylophora wellsi is known for its finely branched, finger-like extensions. The
coral has a porous, lightweight skeletal structure and can appear in various colors such as
brown, green, pink, or purple.

The coral forms dense, branched colonies with branches up to 5 mm thick. It usually grows
mainly in shallow reef areas and shows different color nuances depending on light and environment.
Fish, especially coral-feeding wrasses, can nibble on the branches.
Stylophora wellsi is not considered dangerous; however, related species contain toxic
substances that can cause irritation upon skin contact.
