A paradise for underwater photographers: The Blue Lagoon is, as the name suggests, known for its crystal clear water. The landscape around is equally impressive above and below the water.
We are located at this dive site between the island of Comino and the island of Cominotto.
To the west of this dive site are the famous “Blue Hole” and the “Azure Window,” while further east the “Inland Sea” and a cave system invite diving.
This area is suitable for both recreational diving and technical diving – there is plenty to explore from 7m to 50m.
At the bottom of the Blue Hole, there is the entrance to a cave, where one can observe beautiful sea eels.
Starting from the Blue Hole, you float over gently sloping seabed, which is dotted with rocks of various sizes and a variety of underwater life: lobsters, crabs, snails, octopuses, sea urchins, jellyfish, tuna, barracudas and grouper fish, they all swim around here.
Also, the remains of the Azure Window that collapsed in 2017, as well as the crack that formed in the adjacent reef, which extends to a depth of 16m, invite exploration.
If you dare to go all the way through the crack, you will reach the “Coral Garden,” which also lives up to its name.
