“Booming Cave”, “Railway Tunnel” or “Ghar ix-Xih” – while one may argue about the true name of this cave, there is one thing everyone agrees on: it is not for the faint of heart and is only suitable for experienced divers.

At 24m, we float over fine gravel and sand until several loose rocks rise up, between which the entrance to the 50m long cave is hidden.

Inside the cave, you find yourself in a small air chamber where you can surface, and the view of the “Blue Window” through the cave entrance can take your breath away.

On the exploration tour inside the cave, you will be accompanied by shrimp, and small nudibranchs, while outside the cave you often encounter wrasse and bright orange cardinalfish

Exiting the cave can be done via a ladder or the Reqqa point.

For those looking for a challenging dive in Malta's crystal-clear waters, Billinghurst Cave is just the right place.
