Features

The plankton carried by the currents to the island is the foundation of life on the plateau. The various coelenterates that settle there provide food for everything that makes up the living beings in the area around the Kornati.

For beginners, the plateau (0-18 m) shows spiny lobsters and lionfish – at the latest from the dropdown, morays are not uncommon, making their way with a bit of luck between the splendidly branched gorgonians to their next shelter.

As on the south side of the island, on calm days, the visibility here attracts the identification of the massive schools of sea bream that frolic in front of the steep wall.

For those who are technically inclined, there is a small wreck at 60 m depth, which was sunk during the filming of "Turbulent Sea" in the 1950s.
