The Brijuni National Park spans 14 small islands off the southwestern coast of Istria; Veli and Mali Brijun are the largest of the group.
As the area is protected, diving is only allowed in small groups and with licensed dive bases, but the diving opportunities are virtually endless: rocks and shallows, bays, tunnels, passages, caves, walls.
Due to the active fishing ban, one can find an impressive diversity of marine life – from groupers to rays to the cat shark.
If you want to follow the traces of the past, even the remains of a magnificent villa from the ancient Roman era invite you to dive.
The three most popular dive sites in the Brijuni area are Sveti Jerolim, Peneda (near the lighthouse Pt. Peneda) and Grunj.
