Not only divers but also marine biologists are drawn to this special place.
The steeply falling rock wall is crisscrossed with narrow gorges where shy marine creatures, such as brittle stars, retreat.
At a depth of 25 m, the dark cave entrance to the Grotta della Falconara stands out clearly from the white sand and leads into a tunnel-like cave.
One can follow the rocky bottom 28 m into the interior of the rock until it ends in a fairly narrow chamber where large grouper like to hide.
A small resident makes this dive site particularly special at night.
The beadlet anemone (Actinia equina) only reveals its full beauty in the dark when it extends its tentacles, which seem to glow.
