Special Features

The Golfo di Orosei is a 30-kilometer-long marine bay in the Gennargentu National Park on the east coast of Sardinia. Here, cave-rich dive sites and popular tourist beaches go hand in hand. The dive site Cala Luna is located near the beach of the same name and offers a breathtaking cave landscape. At a depth of 4 meters, a canyon marks the way into the cave system – the walls are saturated with mussels and the floor is covered with radiant white pebbles. The canyon, from which many side passages open up, becomes narrower and leads into a cave where columns and stalactites can be admired. From there, a narrow passage continues deeper into the mountain – it is, however, only accessible to certified divers.
Visibility is almost consistently astonishingly good, sometimes slightly milky due to haloclines. With a bit of luck, one can even find eels and rays in these rather untouched caves.
