We are at the westernmost dive site of the island, almost at the gate to Corsica.
Due to its location, there can be very strong currents here, which makes diving difficult but also creates a special habitat that is favored by many marine creatures.
Therefore, this dive site is considered one of the most beautiful and colorful in Elba, and it is definitely worth planning two dives there.
The first, extremely challenging dive begins on the outside of the reef.
The large boulders provide perfect hiding places for grouper and stingrays.
A small rock ledge marks the end of the landslide and the beginning of the most spectacular part of this dive: a ridge of rock and sand that steeply drops from 20 to over 40 meters.
We "throw" ourselves over this cliff and float over red gorgonians that become denser with increasing depth and reach a diameter of 1 m.
A large school of barracudas always lives in this spot, Dentis dentis can often be seen hunting here, but the most impressive part is the way that leads us back to the boat.
A succession of dark canyons, all inhabited by various sponges, sea daisies (Parazoanthus), nudibranchs in all shapes and colors, small lobsters, and moray eels... a dive not to be missed!
